By using franklinetech.com ("the site"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site. They're written to be read, and they cover what you can do with the content here, what the newsletter and any account involve, and the limits of what this site is responsible for.

The site is run by Frankline Wegulo, operating as Frank Line Tech, based in Kenya.

Using the content

Everything published here — posts, guides, comparison pages, code snippets, images — is owned by Frank Line Tech unless another source is credited. You're welcome to:

Read it, share links to it, and quote short passages with attribution and a link back.
Use the commands, configurations and code from the guides on your own systems. That's what they're for.

Please don't republish whole posts elsewhere, pass the content off as your own, or scrape the site to reproduce it in bulk. If you want to reference something substantial, link to it or get in touch — reasonable requests get a yes.

The technical guides come with no warranty

Much of this site is instructions for changing security settings, running commands, and configuring servers. Those carry real risk, and the full disclaimer covers it, but the short version belongs here too: the guides are provided for educational purposes, tested where possible but with no guarantee they're safe or correct for your specific setup. You run them at your own risk. Back up first, understand what a command does before running it, and don't test on a system you can't afford to break.

If you subscribe to the newsletter or create an account, you're giving your email address for that purpose. You can unsubscribe or ask for your account to be deleted at any time. What's collected and how it's handled is set out in the privacy policy.

Some content may be offered to members or paid subscribers in the future. If and when that happens, the specific terms for paid access — pricing, renewals, refunds — will be presented at the point of sign-up and added here.

Comments and anything you submit

If the site has comments or any other way to submit content, keep it civil and lawful. Don't post anything defamatory, infringing, or that isn't yours to post. Anything you submit, you're confirming you have the right to submit, and Frank Line Tech may remove content that breaks these terms or is off-topic. Submitting a comment doesn't transfer ownership, but it does grant permission to display it on the site in the normal way.

Affiliate links

Some posts contain affiliate links, and a purchase made through one may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes what gets recommended. Full detail is on the affiliate disclosure.

Links to other sites

Posts link to external sites for sources, tools and documentation. Those sites aren't controlled by Frank Line Tech, and linking to one isn't an endorsement of everything on it. Once you leave this site, that site's terms and privacy policy apply.

Limits of liability

The site and its content are provided as they are, free of charge. To the fullest extent the law allows, Frank Line Tech isn't liable for any loss or damage arising from using the site or relying on anything published here — including data loss, downtime, or a server issue that follows from applying a guide. Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law doesn't permit it to be limited.

The site aims to be accurate and current, but doesn't guarantee it, and doesn't promise the site will always be available or error-free.

Changes

These terms may change as the site changes — a paid tier, comments, new features. The "last updated" date reflects the latest version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, including the Data Protection Act, 2019 in respect of personal data. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the Kenyan courts. Readers in the EU and UK keep their rights under the GDPR, which the privacy policy sets out.
